This role involves close collaboration with software engineers and other stakeholders to drive quality throughout the development lifecycle, with a strong focus on automated testing, CI/CD integration, and defect management. Key Responsibilities: Test Development & Automation: Design and implement unit and system-level tests for Silicon CAD tools and workflows. Develop and maintain automated test suites using Python and C++. Leverage Pytest and Python unittest for test automation, including parameterized tests, exception handling, and mocking. Integrate test coverage metrics to measure testing quality and ensure comprehensive validation. CI/CD & Code Integration: Contribute to the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment. Work with source control systems such as Sapling, Mercurial, and Git to manage test integration. Ensure test execution within VSCode and other development environments. Defect Management & Code Quality: Identify, document, and track software defects, working closely with developers to resolve issues. Perform code reviews and contribute to improving software quality best practices. Analyze test results and coverage metrics, providing recommendations for enhancements. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure test coverage and validation for critical software features. Stay updated on latest testing methodologies and technologies, implementing industry best practices. Participate in Agile development processes, including scrum meetings, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Required Skills & Qualifications: Technical Expertise: 5+ years of experience in Software QA with a focus on unit and system testing. Strong proficiency in C++ and Python 3.1x for test development and automation. Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and tools for automated testing. Proficiency with Python unittest and Pytest frameworks for test automation. Familiarity with test coverage metrics and strategies for improving test quality. Experience with source control systems such as Sapling, Mercurial, and Git. Working knowledge of VSCode as a development and testing environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience testing CAD tools or engineering software. Background in the hardware design or semiconductor industry. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevOps best practices. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
