Middleware Automation: Lead the automation of Middleware components using Jython/Python and Ansible to streamline routine administrative tasks and reduce manual intervention. System Monitoring & Performance Tuning: Monitor the health and performance of WebSphere environments, identifying and resolving issues proactively to minimize downtime and optimize system performance. Configuration Management: Develop and implement automated scripts to configure and manage the WebSphere environments, ensuring consistency and efficiency across the infrastructure. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Provide expert-level support for WebSphere-related issues, analyzing logs and system metrics to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems in a timely manner. Collaboration & Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, systems administrators, and architects, to ensure smooth operation of applications hosted on WebSphere. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of configuration settings, automated processes, and troubleshooting procedures for future reference and audit purposes. Essential Skills: IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS): Extensive experience in managing and administering WebSphere Application Server environments. Automation Expertise: Proven expertise in automating WebSphere tasks using Jython, Python, and Ansible to enhance operational efficiency. Middleware Engineering: Solid understanding of Middleware technologies and best practices, with experience in configuring, managing, and optimizing complex systems. Scripting Languages: Strong proficiency in Jython/Python for developing automation scripts and performing system tasks. Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent troubleshooting abilities to identify, analyze, and resolve WebSphere and Middleware-related issues quickly. System Monitoring & Performance Tuning: Experience in using monitoring tools to optimize the performance of WebSphere servers and related applications. Desirable Skills: DevOps Practices: Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and tools, particularly in the context of automating infrastructure tasks and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Other Middleware Products: Knowledge of additional Middleware products or servers (e.g., Apache Tomcat, JBoss). Security Expertise: Understanding of WebSphere security configurations, including SSL/TLS, security realms, and other related topics.
