Role: SAP Public Cloud Solution Architect Location: Huntsville, AL Visa: USC/GC Sorry, last change to travel on this role: Location: Mostly remote with 20% travel except for critical weeks (like special demonstration, blueprint sign-off, UAT kickoff, Deployment week) we need to plan for 80%. So travel is 20% except at critical times when it will be 80% Project Scope: The project scope includes core business processes such as Record-to-Report, Plan-to-Fulfill (including Variant Configuration), Lead-to-Cash, Source-to-Pay, and Supply Chain. We are currently in the Explore phase, with design workshops underway. Phase I go-live is tentatively scheduled for September. The ideal candidate doesnt need to have deep expertise across all modules but should be capable of providing high-level architectural direction. The role will be well-supported by experienced engagement executives and a project manager already on the ground. Please find a high-level role description attached below for reference. Key Responsibilities (Comprehensive) it will require a minimum of 5 end to end Public Cloud implementations 1. Solution Architecture & Design Leadership Lead the design and architecture of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud to meet the business needs of a regulated, quality-focused manufacturing environment. Architect process flows that leverage SAP Best Practices for discrete manufacturing, finance, procurement, and supply chaintailored to protective gear manufacturing. Provide specific guidance around variant configuration (VC) for customizable products and ensure smooth integration across lead-to-cash and plan-to-fulfill processes. 2. Explore Phase Ownership Drive and facilitate design workshops across Finance, Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing. Validate scope and storyboard-based load point estimations with the business and ensure traceability of requirements. Identify deltas between standard SAP and business needs, recommending suitable process adaptations or extensibility options. 3. Cross-Functional Integration & Governance Ensure cross-stream solution consistency, particularly between Finance, Sales, and Supply Chain, which constitute the core process threads. Guide the team in making design decisions that support seamless integration of R&D inputs and engineering changes into manufacturing. Support decision-making for configuration vs. extensibility, always aiming for minimal deviation from standard. 4. Customer Confidence & Stakeholder Engagement Build strong relationships with business process owners and IT leadership by clearly articulating how the SAP Public Cloud solution will support their goals. Serve as the key solution advisor to the Engagement and Project Manager, helping navigate trade-offs between business requirements and system capabilities. Present options and recommendations in fit-to-standard discussions to gain buy-in and reduce friction. 5. Collaboration with Global Delivery & Partner Teams Align closely with offshore functional consultants and technical teams to ensure continuity in solution delivery. Review and validate functional designs and user stories to ensure completeness and accuracy. Coach and mentor junior team members to strengthen internal SAP Public Cloud capability. 6. Implementation & Cutover Strategy (Upcoming Phases) Begin laying the groundwork for upcoming test cycles, data migration, and cutover planning by aligning on key milestones. Support development of future-state process documentation and configuration rationale in preparation for the Realize phase. Key Responsibilities (Concise) Lead Solution Design: Own the end-to-end architecture across all workstreams, ensuring alignment with SAP Best Practices and fit-to-standard principles. Drive Explore Phase: Facilitate design workshops, validate storyboards, and document standard vs. delta requirements across functional areas. Enable Integration: Ensure cohesive process design across Finance, Sales, and Supply Chain; support VC setup for customizable products. Customer Engagement: Build confidence with stakeholders by articulating solution value and guiding trade-offs where standard doesnt fully align. Delivery Oversight: Collaborate with offshore/global teams, review key design artifacts, and provide governance on configuration and extensibility.
