Job Title: Java/MS & Kafka Support Lead

Location: Houston, TX Hybrid role

Skillset: Confluent Kafka Admin, Java, Spring Boot and microservices

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kafka Support Lead. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in Kafka development and administration and support, coupled with a strong background in Java, Spring Boot and microservices. This role
demands a deep understanding of cloud platforms and familiarity with various monitoring and ticketing tools. The Kafka Support Lead will be instrumental in integrating and supporting our applications, ensuring - seamless coordination between onshore and offshore
teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Integration Lead Role:

Design and implement robust integration solutions using Kafka to streamline data flow and enhance system interoperability.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand integration requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Kafka Development and Administration:

Develop, manage, and administer Kafka clusters to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance.

Implement best practices for Kafka configuration, tuning, and security to maintain optimal system health.

Java Spring Boot Microservices:

Develop and maintain microservices using Java Spring Boot, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and reliable.

Integrate microservices with Kafka to enable real-time data processing and event-driven architecture.

Application Support and Troubleshooting:

Provide comprehensive support for Kafka and microservices, diagnosing and resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.

Implement monitoring and alerting mechanisms to proactively identify and address potential problems.

Cloud Platform Understanding:

Utilize cloud services to deploy, manage, and optimize Kafka and related applications.

Leverage cloud capabilities to enhance the scalability, reliability, and security of our Kafka infrastructure.

Model Queue or Service Bus Understanding:

Understanding and familiarity with message queues or service bus technologies to ensure efficient message delivery and processing.

Monitoring Tools and Splunk:

Implement and use monitoring tools, including Splunk, to ensure system health, performance, and security.

Analyze monitoring data to identify trends, optimize performance, and prevent potential issues.
