This role is pivotal in ensuring that parents, teachers, schools, and district leaders can focus on what matters moststudents. The UX and Product Design Lead will work with minimal supervision, using strong independent judgment and initiative to develop intuitive, accessible, and efficient user experiences across TEA applications and websites. Key Responsibilities: Oversee UX/UI designs to ensure alignment with agency-wide design standards and industry best practices. Translate research findings into user stories, requirements, flows, wireframes, and prototypes while contributing to the future product roadmap. Conduct user testing and outreach to ensure products meet end-user needs, collaborating with partners. Work closely with the product team and senior leadership to develop design solutions and present rationales. Collaborate with internal and external teams, including product designers, developers, and product managers, to drive project success. Required Skills and Qualifications: 12+ overall experience with 8+ years of experience in software product development, digital design, UX/UI, or a related field. Proven experience designing mock ups and wireframes that adhere to UX best practices. Strong portfolio showcasing user research, visual design, and usability studies. Experience conducting user and usability research. 5+ years of demonstrated strong writing and organizational skills. 5+ years of strong communication and facilitation skills. 4+ years of experience leading large-scale UX/UI efforts. Hands-on experience developing wireframes, mock ups, and prototypes in Figma or comparable design software. 3+ years of experience ensuring designs and websites comply with federal accessibility guidelines.
