This is a 6-month hybrid contract role. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining automation frameworks to enhance the testing process and improve the quality of web-based and API applications. Job Title: QA Automation Engineer Location: Quincy, MA/Hybrid Duration: 6 Months Interview: In-Person Interview (Local candidates only from MA, NH, or RI with recent client experience in these locations) Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with development and SQA teams to design and implement automation frameworks that align with the overall technology roadmap. Contribute to the selection of the best testing approaches and techniques to ensure the delivery of a quality automation framework. Work closely with other teams such as infrastructure and security to promote testing best practices and integrate quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Develop test strategies using risk-based methodologies. Identify areas of improvement and optimization in testing processes. Document framework, architecture, and design for future reference. Track and manage defects through to resolution. Monitor automated test execution during incremental and monthly releases. Establish automation metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for stakeholders. Mentor and guide QA team members on automation practices. Provide backup support for the UAT Technical Lead. Participate in all automation-related design, status, and team meetings. Required Qualifications: Automation Frameworks : Hands-on experience developing test automation frameworks using tools like Selenium, JUnit/TestNG, Playwright, and REST Assured. Programming Skills : Proficient in any programming language, preferably Java, and understanding of object-oriented design principles. XPath & CSS : Strong experience with XPath and CSS selectors, with the ability to derive customized Xpaths. Version Control : Familiarity with Jenkins, Maven, SVN, Git, and XL Deploy. Version Control Tools : Experience using version control systems such as SVN or Git. Cloud Experience : Experience with AWS is a plus.
