This role requires strong documentation and communication skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with IT, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders.Key Responsibilities: Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments and implement remediation measures. Assist in designing and implementing security controls and systems. Support incident response efforts, including root cause analysis and recovery. Develop and maintain detailed security documentation, including policies and procedures. Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity teams, and business units to align security initiatives with organizational goals. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements such as NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, GDPR, and HIPAA. Contribute to security awareness and training programs. Monitor security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR) to proactively detect and mitigate threats.Required Skills and Experience: 5+ years of experience in incident response. 3+ years of experience with firewalls and IDS/IPS systems. 2+ years of experience with SIEM tools. 2+ years of experience with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) or Managed Detection and Response (MDR). 2+ years in vulnerability management. 1+ year in security awareness and training. 3+ years assessing compliance with security frameworks such as NIST 800-53, NIST CSG, or CIS Top 18. 1+ year of cloud security experience. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Highly Desired: 1+ year of project management experience.Preferred Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC GCIH, or equivalent.Additional Notes: This is a short-term contract (4 months). Candidates must be comfortable with this duration. The position requires onsite work in Boise, ID (3 days per week onsite, hybrid model). Remote work is not an option. Only candidates local to Boise, ID will be considered.
