Requirement details : R ole: Sr. Business Systems Analyst Location: Chicago, IL ( Hybrid) Need Locals Experience: 10+ Years Duration: Long Term Interview Mode: In-Person interview for final round with client Job Description: Must have accounting, financial management, GL, Reconciliation, HR experience Workday is a HUGE PLUS almost to the point of a MUST HAVE Must have ADO or Jira or any other ALM tool Agile/Waterfall The job responsibilities are mostly the same except their focus would not be on Client's external facing financial applications, it will be on their internal facing Enterprise Resource Planning Accounting and HR team applications, such as; Workday Financial Management, Workday HR, Learning Management System, Matching Employee Gifts application, new financial reconciliation software, and other supporting applications. Job Description Summary: Collaborate with business units to understand strategies and processes, ensuring quality product delivery by developing detailed requirements. Elicit and translate business/user needs into functional specifications, and communicate effectively in SCRUM meetings. Conduct business analysis, create documentation, assist in design and development, and suggest software improvements. Use project management tools, model system diagrams, and ensure reliable software operations. Define business requirements, participate in projects, adhere to bank policies, assist in software releases, focus on quality, guide team members, support customers, troubleshoot issues, and promote understanding of business processes. Additional Details: Understand Business Needs : o Work closely with different business units to understand the Banks strategies, processes, and roadmaps. o Gain in-depth knowledge of the context in which the business and IT operate. Deliver Quality Products : o Understand end-user needs. o Develop detailed requirements. o Support technical designs and process improvements. Stakeholder Collaboration : o Elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate business/user requirements. o Translate business needs and end-user requirements into functional specifications. Communication Skills : o Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. o Participate in various SCRUM team meetings with business, management, IT, and senior leadership. User Stories : o Ensure user stories meet the INVEST principle and definition of ready. Business Analysis : o Perform complex professional business analysis and application development duties. o Elicit complex business requirements through JAD sessions with business and technology stakeholders. Documentation : o Write detailed specifications of requested system changes. o Write data specifications, release notes, user guides, and other deliverables as needed. Design and Development : o Assist with creation and refinement of design (mockup) on new functionality. o Develop and execute data mapping plans for conversions and migrations. Software and Process Improvements : o Suggest software and process improvements. o Implement and integrate COTS software solutions to support proprietary processes. Data Analysis : o Write queries to analyze business data for decision-making and ad hoc reporting. Financial Systems : o Familiarity with financial systems is a plus. SDLC Methodology : o Understand the software development process using SDLC methodologies (Waterfall/Scrum). Project Management Tools : o Familiar with automated project management and documentation tools (e.g., flowcharting, data modeling, Excel, UI design, Visio). System Diagrams and Business Processes : o Familiar with techniques and tools for modeling system diagrams, business processes, functional processes, and interfaces. Collaboration : o Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems. o Identify and resolve business systems issues. Requirements and Goals : o Work with business team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals. o Ensure applications meet business requirements and systems goals. Project Participation : o Participate in planning relevant project, enhancement, and maintenance activities. o Develop and maintain business domain knowledge. Bank Policies and Standards : o Understand and apply relevant Bank policies, standards, and procedures. o Demonstrate adherence to IT principles and critical thinking. Software Releases and Upgrades : o Assist in software releases and roll-outs. o Perform software improvements and upgrades. o Perform code deployments and releases. Quality Focus : o Complete all tasks with a focus on quality. o Meet or exceed established SLOs. Team Guidance : o Provide guidance to less experienced team members. o Collaborate with different areas of IT and the business to provide solutions. Customer Support : o Build rapport and elicit problem details from customers. o Provide timely reports on project status and issues to management and business units. Troubleshooting : o Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting. o Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and FAQ resources to aid in problem resolution.
