Back-end developers focus on creating reusable functionality that is supportable through upgrades and consumable by a variety of types of front-end applications. A Back-end Developer manages the APIs and web services used by Front-end Developers. Additionally this role could cover technologies that require strong integration between the front end and back end where a developer may have to develop both sides of the application. An Expert Back-end Developer demonstrates proficiency in back-end development skills and is trusted to be the technical lead applying these skills on a complex application.
