Must need to know how to do automation/scripting/ backend engineering Ideally within utilities, oil/gas, energy etc. The essentials:- 7+ years of hands on experience designing, building and maintaining test automation solutions across multiple platforms using a variety of tools and frameworks Highly proficient in testing and building test automation for desktop applications, APIs, packaged applications, and custom applications Recent hands on experience with one or more programming languages and SQL. (Understanding of relational databases, has the ability to programmatically read/write from the DB using medium complexity SQL queries, comfortable designing and updating relational database structures, etc.). Strong knowledge of API architecture and expertise in the functional and non-functional testing of APIs and services using both SOAP and REST protocols. Strong knowledge in testing strategies, test automation approaches, and knowledge of how to mature automation frameworks work Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate and articulate to stakeholders and management across multiple business functions. Nice to have Prior exposure to or experience automating tests using Tosca, Experience with integrating automation into CI-CD pipelines within large, complex environments. Experience in the utility industry or a similar type of environment. Design and develop robust automated tests for desktop applications, APIs, scripts, and databases to address business and technical use cases. Analyze how systems are being tested manually and identify opportunities to reduce that time and effort through test automation. Maintain, support, and extend our in house automation framework and automation suites Collaborating with cross-functional teams including application SMEs domain architects, Cyber, Infrastructure and other subject matter experts. Requires coming up to speed rapidly with the SCE organization and key stakeholders. Design comprehensive approaches and set up process standards for ensuring the quality, scalability, and maintainability of test automation tools and frameworks.
