This role requires expertise in installing, configuring, and upgrading IBM DataStage environments, as well as managing projects, user roles, and permissions. You will also play a key role in analyzing and optimizing ETL processes, troubleshooting job failures, and providing ongoing support to development teams. Strong knowledge of DataStage components, operating systems, and databases is essential. Key Responsibilities: Environment Management: Install, configure, and upgrade IBM DataStage environments. Create, delete, and configure DataStage projects, ensuring they meet operational requirements. Assign project roles and permissions to users, ensuring proper access control. Monitor DataStage server performance and resource utilization to ensure optimal functioning. Perform routine preventative maintenance on DataStage environments and troubleshoot any issues. Implement and maintain DataStage security configurations and manage user access and permissions. ETL Process Support: Analyze and optimize ETL processes within IBM DataStage to improve performance and reliability. Troubleshoot DataStage job failures, provide root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Monitor job execution and performance metrics to ensure smooth operation and timely processing. Assist development teams with the creation and setup of DataStage projects, ensuring adherence to best practices. Technical Support & Maintenance: Provide day-to-day technical support for DataStage environments, ensuring data integrity and job reliability. Collaborate with development teams to streamline processes and optimize ETL workflows. Continuously assess and improve existing ETL processes for greater efficiency. Key Competencies: Netezza Knowledge: Understanding and experience with Netezza for data warehousing and integration with IBM DataStage. Essential Skills: IBM DataStage Expertise: In-depth knowledge of IBM DataStage (InfoSphere DataStage) and its components. Experience with the DataStage Director and Designer clients to manage and design ETL workflows. ETL & Data Warehousing: Solid understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts, with practical experience in implementation and optimization. Operating Systems: Familiarity with various operating systems, particularly Linux and Windows. Scripting & Automation: Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Power to automate tasks and manage environments. Database Knowledge: Proficiency in working with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, including knowledge of data integration and troubleshooting. Desirable Skills: Experience with Netezza: Proven ability to work with Netezza databases and integrate them within IBM DataStage workflows. Advanced Troubleshooting: Strong skills in troubleshooting and diagnosing DataStage issues and ETL process failures. Performance Optimization: Experience in optimizing the performance of DataStage jobs and queries, as well as DataStage server resource utilization. Experience (Years): 5+ years of experience in IBM DataStage environment management, ETL support, and troubleshooting. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
