As a Data Security Consultant, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing robust data security solutions using Microsoft Fabric. Your expertise will ensure the protection of sensitive data while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities: Data Security Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive data security strategies tailored to the specific needs and requirements of the organization, leveraging Microsoft Fabric capabilities. Ensure all data security practices align with business goals and compliance requirements. Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential data security threats and vulnerabilities within the Microsoft Fabric environment. Propose and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard sensitive data across the platform. Security Architecture Design: Design and deploy secure data architectures using encryption, access controls, and data masking techniques to protect sensitive data within Microsoft Fabric. Implement robust security measures to prevent unauthorized data access and data breaches. Compliance and Governance: Ensure that all data security measures comply with industry regulations and best practices, such as GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, and other relevant data protection standards. Develop and implement incident response plans to address data security breaches and incidents in a timely and effective manner. Security Audits & Vulnerability Assessments: Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to evaluate the integrity of the security infrastructure. Identify and address any weaknesses in the system to ensure robust protection of sensitive data. Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with IT, legal, compliance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure a holistic approach to data security. Provide expert guidance on security best practices and ensure alignment with broader organizational security strategies. Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees and stakeholders on data security policies and best practices. Raise awareness about data security issues across the organization to promote a culture of security vigilance. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of security protocols, procedures, security incidents, and audit findings. Ensure comprehensive reporting on data security measures, assessments, and improvements. Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data security, especially in cloud platforms like Microsoft Fabric. Continuously enhance the security posture of the organization by integrating new technologies and methodologies into the security framework. Key Competencies: Microsoft Fabric Security Features: Experience with Microsoft Fabric security features, including identity and access management, encryption, and data governance tools. Data Privacy Regulations & Compliance: Strong understanding of data privacy laws and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001). Cloud Security Best Practices: Knowledge of cloud security best practices and frameworks, particularly within the Microsoft ecosystem. Essential Skills: Data Security Strategy Development: Experience in designing and implementing data security strategies and frameworks tailored to client needs. Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Expertise in conducting risk assessments and designing mitigation strategies for cloud-based environments. Security Architecture Design: Hands-on experience with secure architecture design, including encryption, access controls, and data masking for cloud platforms like Microsoft Fabric. Compliance and Governance: Proven ability to ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations and industry standards. Incident Response & Security Audits: Experience developing and implementing incident response plans, conducting security audits, and performing vulnerability assessments. Collaboration & Communication: Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, coupled with exceptional communication skills for reporting and training. Continuous Improvement: Ability to stay informed on the latest data security developments and integrate them into an organization's security practices. Desirable Skills: Operational Decision Manager (ODM): Familiarity with IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM) for decision automation. Cloud Platform Knowledge (AWS, Azure): Understanding of cloud infrastructure and security practices, particularly within Microsoft Azure or AWS environments. Experience (Years): 6-8 years of experience in data security, with a focus on cloud environments and platforms like Microsoft Fabric. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
