Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Emergency Communications Engineer to support communication services and technologies for NYC 911 and emergency response systems. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing vendor support, managing network infrastructure, and providing technical assistance for 911 systems, Text-to-911 services, and emergency point-to-point communications. Key Responsibilities: Oversee vendors supporting emergency communications and infrastructure Coordinate with 911 service providers and neighboring jurisdictions Support and deploy emergency communications network infrastructure Provide technical support for E911, NG911, and Text-to-911 services Investigate incidents and provide root cause analysis and remediation Manage Emergency Communications technology assets Ensure compliance with customer SLAs and perform physical and technical tasks as needed Required Skills/Experience: 8+ years in data center/network support, troubleshooting LAN/WAN 8+ years in communications routing (Wireline, Wireless, VoIP) Extensive experience with documentation tools (Excel, Visio, Word) Knowledge of telecommunication cabling, routing, and termination Experience with LEC circuits termination and turn-up Ability to travel within the NYC region and work on-call if required Must have prior experience working in the emergency communications field Desirable Skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field Knowledge of E911, GIS, and related emergency communication systems Familiarity with NG9-1-1, ESINET, SMS, RTT, and TCC routing #Hiring #EmergencyCommunications #911 #TechJobs #Telecommunications #VoIP #Networking #EmergencyResponse #NYCJobs #PublicSafety #TechCareers -- Keywords: information technology New York We're Hiring!
