Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Software Engineer to join our team. This role involves collaborating daily with offshore leads, vendors, and teams to write code that aligns with our cloud infrastructure and business needs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with cloud technologies and database management, as well as strong knowledge of coding standards and architecture.

As part of our team, you will work closely with architects and the business side of the organization to deliver solutions. This role offers significant exposure to new technologies, providing ample opportunities for learning and growth. A "go-getter" attitude is essential, as you will be expected to drive results and be proactive in tackling challenges.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with offshore leads/vendors/teams daily to write and review code.

Work directly with architects and business teams to understand requirements and implement solutions.

Drive the implementation of cloud-based solutions and services in AWS.

Code primarily in Python, following enterprise coding standards.

Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, security, and scalability.

Utilize observability tools like CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and DataDog to monitor systems and applications.

Develop and integrate cloud-based applications, working with REST APIs (both synchronous and asynchronous), batch, and real-time integrations.

Work with database technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, Cassandra, and DynamoDB.

Design and implement containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS.

Leverage AWS services such as Lambda, IAM, S3, EC2, and more to build scalable, reliable systems.

Maintain a focus on security best practices, including WAF, encryption, access control, identity management, SSO, and MFA.

Ensure system performance and reliability through the use of auto-scaling, ASG, ALB, and NLB.

Work on data storage solutions, including EFS, S3, and Snowflake.

Must-Have Skills and Experience:

Cloud Technologies: Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, IAM, S3, EFS, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, CLI, Kinesis, Glue, Elasticache, Redis, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, and EC2.

Databases: Experience working with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra and DynamoDB.

Containers: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS.

Integrations: Strong experience with REST APIs, both synchronous and asynchronous, as well as batch and real-time integrations.

Networking: Knowledge of network infrastructure, including VPC, subnets, security groups (SG), IP addressing, and CIDR.

Security: In-depth understanding of security concepts, including WAF, encryption, access control, identity management, SSO, and MFA.

Performance/Reliability: Experience with auto-scaling, ASG, ALB, and NLB.

Storage/Data Warehouse: Experience with EFS, S3, and Snowflake SQL.

Programming: Proficiency in Python, including experience writing Python code daily.

Code Reviews: Ability to perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.

Observability Tools: Experience with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, EventBridge, DataDog, or similar tools.

Architecture: Knowledge of service-oriented architectures (SOA), microservices, and event-driven design patterns.

Network Infrastructure Understanding: Strong understanding of network infrastructure (this is a senior-level expectation).

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Knowledge of Machine Learning fundamentals, including performance/accuracy metrics, hyperparameters, training, feedback, and inference.

Familiarity with MLOps and AWS Glue and Spark for machine learning.

Additional Must-Haves for Senior Engineers:

Experience in developing reusable code using frameworks and following domain-driven design principles.

Knowledge of modular coding practices and analytical, data-driven approaches.

Experience in cloud-based software development, web applications, security, and open-source technologies.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

Strong ability to estimate effort and deliver results within deadlines.

Excellent troubleshooting skills using services, resources, platforms, and logs.

Ability to translate business needs into technology solutions.

Strategic thinking, innovation, and a responsible, confident, and collaborative attitude.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
