Overview: We are seeking a strategic and delivery-focused AI/ML Director to lead cross-functional initiatives at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning (AI/ML), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and Digital Transformation within the Life Sciences industry. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for managing complex, tech-enabled programs from ideation through executionensuring business value, stakeholder alignment, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation and a proven ability to drive large-scale digital initiatives, though this is not a hands-on coding role. Key Responsibilities: Lead the successful delivery of AI/ML, RPA, and digital transformation programs across R&D, Commercial, Clinical, Regulatory, or Enterprise functions. Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Manage full program lifecycle: planning, scope definition, stakeholder alignment, execution, risk management, and change management. Oversee cross-functional project teams including data scientists, automation specialists, solution architects, and external vendors. Establish program governance structures, ensure effective communication, and provide executive-level reporting. Drive the adoption of intelligent technologies to enable operational efficiency and innovation. Identify and prioritize new AI/ML use cases; build business cases and develop implementation roadmaps. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, data governance policies, and ethical AI practices. Required Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in program/project management roles within technology, digital, or transformation-focused environments. 2+ years of experience leading AI/ML projects in Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical industries (R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Commercial, etc.). Experience with RPA/intelligent automation platforms such as UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automation Anywhere. Familiarity with AI/ML platforms such as AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, Google AI, or DataRobot. Demonstrated ability to deliver large-scale, cross-functional digital programs involving diverse stakeholders. Strong understanding of digital transformation, agile/hybrid delivery methodologies, and change management principles. Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field. Experience with data governance, compliance, and ethical AI practices in regulated environments. Certifications such as PMP, Agile, or SAFe are a plus. Background in pharma/biotech digital innovation or data-driven transformation initiatives.
