Position: Senior PostgreSQL DBA Location: Los Angeles Metropolitan Area -Local Only Duration: 6-12Months Visa:USC/EAD/GC Interview: Phone/Skype/Teams ** This is a hybrid work environment (3 days a week onsite) in the Los Angeles office (No Remote candidates will be considered) ---------------------------JOB DESCRIPTION--------------------------- What you will do: Perform PostgreSQL database (multi-terabyte scale) migrations from on-prem to AWS cloud environment. Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system health Consolidate multiple PostgreSQL instances into streamlined, high-performance systems Monitor, tune, and optimize PostgreSQL databases for performance and scalability Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and security best practices Design and implement advanced strategies including partitioning, and data archiving Develop and manage HA, backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies in the cloud (Aurora, RDS, EC2-based PostgreSQL) Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application performance Write and maintain documentation related to database standards, architecture, and procedures We need your expertise in: Full lifecycle PostgreSQL database migrations from large, high-volume systems (multi-terabyte scale) 5+ years of hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL in enterprise environments Proven success in migrating PostgreSQL databases from on-prem to AWS Experience with AWS services such as RDS, Aurora, EC2, and S3 Strong knowledge of partitioning and database optimization Experience consolidating multiple PostgreSQL instances into centralized environments Solid understanding of PostgreSQL internals, replication, and high availability Scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or similar languages is a plus Preferred Qualifications: AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database Specialty) Experience with DevOps tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) Exposure to other relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL stores Thanks and Regards Sanchit Technical Recruiter ConvexTech Inc.
