This person MUST understand operational aspects of PBM. Position Overview: We are seeking highly skilled Program Manager with deep expertise in pharmacy benefit programs to lead complex initiatives within our organization. This role will be instrumental in driving the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic projects related to pharmacy benefit management (PBM), formulary implementation, clinical program development, vendor integration, and regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates will bring a strong background in PBM operations, health plan pharmacy services, or managed care pharmacy programs, combined with outstanding project management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, evolving healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities: Program Management: Lead end-to-end management of high-impact pharmacy benefit programs and strategic initiatives. Collaborate with leadership to define program goals, timelines, budgets, and success metrics. Oversee multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and compliance standards. Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a liaison between internal departments and external PBM vendors or partners. Translate business needs into technical requirements, and vice versa, to ensure successful project execution. Provide regular updates and reports to executive stakeholders on progress, risks, and milestones. Process Improvement & Compliance: Identify opportunities to improve pharmacy operations, member experience, and cost-efficiency. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., CMS, NCQA, URAC) and internal quality standards. Implement best practices in PBM operations, utilization management, and benefit design Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, Business, or related field required. Masters degree (e.g., MPH, MBA, PharmD) strongly preferred. Experience: Minimum 58 years of experience in program or project management within healthcare. Deep experience (3+ years) in pharmacy benefit management, health plans, PBMs, or clinical pharmacy programs. Proven success managing complex projects with cross-functional teams and external vendors. Skills: Strong understanding of PBM operations, formulary management, prior authorization workflows, rebate strategies, and regulatory guidelines. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Proficient with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project) and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid). PMP, Six Sigma, or related certification preferred.
