The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical expert with deep experience in infrastructure, full-stack application deployments, hardware, OS, virtual machines, networking/security, cloud, and automation tooling . You will collaborate closely with application owners, infrastructure teams, and security to ensure seamless migration and optimized performance for market-sensitive applications , including those requiring low latency and co-location considerations . Key Skills: Data Center Migration DevOps and Automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform) Full Stack Infrastructure (Linux, Windows, VMs) Network & Security (Firewalls, VPN, Load Balancing) Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) Market Systems & Low Latency Optimization Fixed Income Trade Processing Applications CI/CD, Jenkins, Git Key Responsibilities: Data Center Migration & Infrastructure Engineering: Lead and execute end-to-end application migration from existing Chicago data center to New York, ensuring minimal downtime and zero disruption to business operations. Work with application teams to analyze current state, map dependencies, and develop migration plans for Fixed Income trade processing platforms. Coordinate with network, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure necessary hardware, OS, and network configurations are in place. Support physical and virtual server migrations, ensuring secure and compliant movement of application estates. DevOps Engineering & Application Support: Support full-stack deployments, ensuring applications are optimized post-migration, including middleware, databases, and services. Implement automation and tooling to streamline migrations and post-migration validation. Optimize system performance for market latency-sensitive applications, understanding co-location and proximity hosting requirements. Assist with cloud migration strategy as applicable for hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, or similar). Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for consistent and repeatable deployments. Collaboration & Coordination: Act as bridge between application owners and infrastructure teams, facilitating smooth coordination and issue resolution. Work closely with security teams to ensure compliance and data protection standards are upheld during and after migration. Participate in disaster recovery and failover planning to ensure high availability and resilience of migrated applications. Required Qualifications: 7-9+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Systems Engineer, or Infrastructure Engineer , with hands-on application migration experience. Strong background in infrastructure , including hardware, OS (Linux/Windows), VMs, networking, and security. Proven experience migrating large, complex application estates between data centers, including full-stack dependencies. Understanding of Fixed Income trade processing applications or middle/back office trading systems. Knowledge of market latency, co-location setups, and proximity hosting considerations for high-performance applications. Strong automation and scripting skills (Python, , Ansible, Terraform, or similar). Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud migration strategies. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Git, and DevOps best practices. Solid understanding of network security, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancing. Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills for distributed applications. Excellent communication skills to work with cross-functional teams (Infra, Security, App Owners). Experience with market systems (trading, risk, settlement) and low-latency environments. Prior involvement in data center build-outs or migrations in capital markets. Familiarity with middleware technologies, databases (Oracle, SQL Server, NoSQL). Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, etc.) for application and infrastructure monitoring.
