Please let me know if you are interested in the position Title: Senior Application Security Engineer Location:Fully Remote Duration: 6 months contract Visa Restrictions: No H1b/CPT Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Application Security Engineer who thrives on proactively identifying and neutralizing threats. If you have a passion for securing complex systems and are eager to make a significant impact, we want to hear from you. Experience with agentic AI and large-scale data platforms used for AI model training is a big plus, but not a requirement. What you'll do: As a key player on the team, you'll be empowered to take initiative and drive security from the ground up. Your responsibilities will include: Building and maturing a comprehensive security assurance program for an agentic AI mobile app and a dedicated AI and data platform. Conducting in-depth code reviews and participating in pair programming to embed security best practices early in the development lifecycle. Leading security reviews for new and existing applications and services. Executing regular perimeter scans to identify vulnerabilities in external-facing assets. Developing, implementing, and iterating on security policies and standards for product development and engineering. Configuring and iterating on security testing processes within the CI/CD pipeline, processing alerts, and collaborating with engineering teams on remediation. Defining and enforcing SLAs for confirmed vulnerabilities. Conducting risk assessments and threat models for current and future applications and services. Creating and iterating on a red team program with active engineering team involvement. Providing expert security consulting and guidance to cross-functional teams. Staying ahead of the curve by monitoring the current threat landscape, emerging threats, and mitigation techniques. What you'll bring: 5+ years of experience in application security or related security engineering roles. Strong knowledge of secure coding practices, common vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10), and remediation techniques. Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript). Experience with static and dynamic application security testing tools. Proficiency in Public Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) and network security. Familiarity with security standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, OWASP SAMM). Proven track record of building and operating secure, reliable systems at scale. Strong experience implementing security within CI/CD pipelines and collaborating with development teams to achieve security assurance goals. Strong understanding of web application architectures and technologies. Strong technical expertise with multi-cloud environments, including container/serverless and other microservice architectures. Strong experience implementing security measures for both applications and data storage, with an understanding of the unique security requirements of data warehouse technologies such as Snowflake. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
