Potential candidate will have a solid prior experience of analysing the SQL Server Database to come up with quick and realistic goals to improve the stability, performance, and consistency of the Database. This is a SQL expert role with specialization in capacity management, administration and application programming. This role will report to Head of the function. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Introduce and implement metrics to proactively manage the capacity of SQL Server Database Provides expert Database experience to multiple engineering/development teams Development of automated reporting services to proactively monitor the system thresholds and metrics on a continuous basis (24X7) Implements new / improved software development processes and best practices, as required by group or departmental Heads Work closely with development teams to improve the performance of the application that is heavily reliant on stored procedures Provide latest SQL technical skills as required by the developer community in the organization MINIUMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree in computer science Strong experience in performance tuning and monitoring of SQL Servers 2008 to 2019 Prior experience of migrating the SQL Server from 2008 to 2019 with a pragmatic approach Expertise in analysing SQL performance, load, and concurrent use issues in an architecture that involves multiple components/services and replication to external databases (Sybase) Thorough experience of simulation and stress testing to identify the capacity/thresholds, resource utilization of the Database Introduce metrics that can be continuously monitored using reporting tools like Grafana, SSRS, Power BI Experience in T-SQL and a programming language Scripting and automation using MS PowerShell/Bash Scripting, Ansible or Terraform In-depth understanding of technologies in the Microsoft eco-system hosted on AWS Advantageous Experience: Financial and Index markets experience Experience in Sybase is advantageous Keywords: business intelligence database http://bit.ly/4ey8w48 https://jobs.nvoids.com/job_details.jsp?id=253380&uid= |
