Location: Remote (No PST) Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineer & Release Manager for Microsoft Dynamics 365 to lead and execute end-to-end releases across our Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, and Operations modules. This role is accountable for planning, coordinating, and executing code and configuration deployments using Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines, and for driving disciplined release management practices that ensure quality, performance, and minimal business disruption. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise in Dynamics 365 with strong release execution capabilities and a passion for process, automation, and reliability. This person will also do some developer work.the majority of the time is the release manager responsibilities but will spend any free time coding. The right candidate will have experience managing complex pipeline release schedule. Primary Responsibilities Release Management Primary Focus Plan and execute releases across Sales, Service, Marketing, and Operations environments, including Dev, QA, UAT, and Production. Build, manage, and maintain Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines to support CI/CD across environments. Package and deploy Dynamics 365 customizations, solutions, Power Platform components, and ISV packages. Coordinate cross-module deployments, ensuring version control, dependency management, and rollback capabilities. Coordinate 3rd party releases that integrate tightly with dynamics Maintain accurate release calendars, environment inventories, and deployment documentation for full auditability. Manage and ensure compliance with change control and approval processes, ensuring compliance with governance and production readiness standards. Monitor post-release performance and coordinate incident response for any deployment-related issues. Partner with QA and business teams to ensure test coverage, signoff, and validation checkpoints are embedded in release workflows. Engineering & Platform Support Design, develop, and maintain Dynamics 365 customizations using X++, JavaScript, Power Automate, Power Apps, and C#. Develop and support integrations across modules and with external systems using Azure Logic Apps, APIs, or middleware. Address release-related defects and collaborate with support teams to perform root cause analysis and resolution. Stay current with Microsofts release wave plans and evaluate the impact of platform updates across modules. Contribute to environment refreshes, data movement, and sandbox maintenance to support development and testing cycles. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in software development and application lifecycle management, with 3+ years in Dynamics 365 (Sales, Service, Marketing, or Operations). Must be proficient in Git and other version control systems, with hands-on experience using release management tools to plan, track, and deploy software releases(added 6/13) Demonstrated expertise in hands-on release execution for Dynamics 365 using Azure DevOps. Experienced in managing complex pipeline release schedule Solid knowledge of solution packaging, dependency management, and module-specific deployment nuances. Strong understanding of Microsoft Dataverse, Power Platform, and D365 architecture. Proficiency in relevant technologies: X++, C#, JavaScript, Power Automate, Power Apps, SQL. Experience with version control, branching strategies, and CI/CD concepts in a multi-environment setup. Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Microsoft Certifications in one or more D365 modules (Sales, Service, Marketing, or Operations). Experience supporting large-scale D365 implementations or rollouts.
