As part of one of the largest retail data ecosystems in the world, you will play a critical role in building scalable, reliable, and high-performance data pipelines that power Walmarts analytics and decision-making platforms. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain large-scale distributed data processing systems using Scala and Apache Spark. Build and optimize ETL pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming massive datasets from various sources. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions. Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance through rigorous testing and monitoring. Optimize performance and scalability of big data solutions for production use. Work with cloud-based data platforms and integrate with modern data infrastructure. Required Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of hands-on experience in building data pipelines with Apache Spark and Scala. Strong understanding of distributed data processing, data partitioning, and performance tuning in Spark. Experience with data orchestration tools like Airflow, Oozie, or similar. Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Hive, HBase, Cassandra). Proficient in working with Hadoop ecosystem, including HDFS, Hive, and YARN. Experience with version control systems like Git and CI/CD workflows. Preferred Skills: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, P, or Azure. Knowledge of data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery). Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in a large enterprise environment. Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized data processing. Retail, supply chain, or e-commerce domain experience is a plus.
