Overview An RF Network SME provides expert-level support in the planning, deployment, and optimization of radio access networks. They ensure high-quality wireless service through RF design, parameter tuning, network performance analysis, and the integration of new technologies (like 5G). Roles AND Responsibilities: Owns and drive the whole program and single point of contact Requirements RF Planning & Design : Create RF coverage models using tools like Atoll, Planet, or Asset. Define site configurations, antenna types, tilt, azimuth, etc. Network Optimization : Analyze KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) such as RSRP, SINR, throughput, call drops. Recommend optimization actions like neighbor list tuning, power adjustments, and handover optimization. Drive Test Analysis : Evaluate data from tools like TEMS, Nemo, or Actix. Identify areas of poor coverage, interference, or dropped calls. Capacity Planning : Forecast traffic growth and ensure adequate RF resources are available. New Technology Integration : Support integration and testing of LTE/5G NR nodes. Perform interworking functions with legacy technologies (3G/4G). Technical Leadership : Provide guidance to junior engineers and interface with cross-functional teams. Participate in customer meetings and present technical solutions.
