This role focuses on evaluating new and modified software programs to ensure they meet user requirements and conform to established standards. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in payroll systems, ERP testing, and software quality assurance practices. Key Responsibilities Design and execute test plans for payroll software and enhancements. Review and validate software functionality against business requirements. Develop and maintain quality standards and testing procedures. Analyze program documentation, flowcharts, and logs to assess functionality and identify errors. Monitor systems during testing to detect issues and ensure smooth operation. Identify discrepancies between user needs and system performance; recommend improvements. Conduct compatibility testing with third-party applications and vendor software. Document testing results, defects, and required corrections. Assess feasibility of software enhancements and develop utility programs for testing. Troubleshoot complex issues related to system capacity, performance, and configuration. Prepare detailed specifications for application software packages. Required Qualifications Minimum 8 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance. Proven experience testing large-scale ERP systems, especially Oracle Fusion Cloud (HCM, Financials, Procurement). Extensive knowledge of payroll operations, including calculations, tax rules, deductions, garnishments, and year-end processing. Experience in unionized or public sector payroll environments is highly desirable. Proficiency with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps). Strong analytical skills and ability to translate business requirements into test scenarios. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality deliverables. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Experience with SQL for data validation and analysis. Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall testing methodologies. Hands-on experience across the full application lifecycle: analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and maintenance. Experience developing and executing automated test scripts. Strong understanding of IT fundamentals, including OS installation, imaging, and network troubleshooting. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in Computer Science or related field. Experience with cloud-based applications and automated testing frameworks. ISTQB or similar software testing certification. Experience in public sector or large government organizations. Familiarity with transit-related business systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Kronos, UKG).
