The position is located south of Pittsburgh, PA. This is a 6 month contract assignment with possibility of an extension. Ideal candidates must have 8+ years of Linux Systems Administration experience. Responsibilities: Perform normal day-to-day administration of the Linux environment Review daily backup reports to remedy failures and increase job success rates Collect, analyze, and document information about the current Linux environment. Review customer policies and procedures to ensure that they are in line with the best practices of the supported Linux distributions Take ownership of trouble tickets and work them to resolution Assist with ongoing projects that utilize Linux as the Operating System platform Perform systems operation support, including storage and server system administration, general troubleshooting, and troubleshooting of complex engineering issues for hardware, software, and network components. Participate in disaster recovery (DR) planning and execution in support of customer requirements. Perform system, as well as file and directory, restores as requested by internal customers.
