Test Automation Engineer Lead (Q015) Position open until: August 19th Location: Hybrid role in the DMV area (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday on-site) Washington D.C, Maryland, and Virginia. Status: Contract Best rate on C2C: 45/hr Candidate Visas Accepted: No . accepted Job Summary The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests for distributed enterprise applications. This role requires a strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies, CI/CD integration, and a collaborative approach to working with development, DevOps, and security teams. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software built on a modern technology stack. Duties & Responsibilities Test Automation: Design, develop, and execute automated functional, system, regression, and integration tests. Extend and enhance existing test automation frameworks and tools using open-source technologies. Quality Assurance: As an active member of a scrum team, the candidate will be responsible for all aspects of quality assurance, including test automation and framework development. CI/CD Integration: Work closely with engineering and QA teams to manage and improve the development pipeline by integrating automated tests with CI/CD tools. Defect Management: Triage, document, and troubleshoot defects reported by customers or internally. Execute regression testing to validate defect resolution and ensure existing functionality is unaffected. Collaboration: Liaise with internal teams (developers and project managers) to identify system requirements and document QA procedures for the team. Documentation: Identify, record, and document test results to facilitate efficient defect resolution. Track key quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts. Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of professional experience in Testing Automation and Quality Assurance. Proven experience with testing methodologies and agile software development processes. Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages, including Java (with JUnit, TestNG) and Python (with Selenium). Experience with SQL, scripting with Bash, and version control using Git. Familiarity with RPA and associated tools like Blue Prism or UIPath. Experience with API testing tools such as RestEasy and performance testing tools like JMeter. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and other collaborative tools like Microsoft Teams. Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Personal Attributes: Strong technical skills, work ethic, independence, and problem-solving ability. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A proactive and positive attitude.
