Are there existing CI/CD pipelines and integrations in place, or is the SME expected to build them from scratch - there isn't one in place so this will need to be done, but this person will have support from an integration engineer. Is there a centralized dashboard or reporting system in place, or will the SME need to build one - we don't have one in our Atlassian suite and will have to build one. Are there any compliance or security standards the SME must adhere to when configuring tools and integrations - our QMS mainly. What level of training or enablement is expected from this role (e.g., workshops, documentation, coaching) - all of it, but should be less than 20-30% Are there existing Agile Coaches or PMOs the SME will partner with, or will they lead enablement efforts independently - We will have coaches and scrum masters and SME's to partner with. Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Agile Developer / SME to lead the technical evolution and enterprise-wide adion of Agile practices through the strategic use of the Atlassian suite. This role combines deep technical expertise in backend development and tool integration with a strong understanding of Agile methodologies and enterprise transformation. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technologist and thought leader who can architect, configure, and imize Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.), integrate them with other enterprise systems, and guide teams in ading Agile best practices. Key Responsibilities: Atlassian Suite Expertise Architect, configure, and maintain Atlassian tools including Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and Crowd. Design and implement custom workflows, automation rules, dashboards, and reporting to support Agile delivery. Lead tool integrations with CI/CD pipelines, test management tools, identity providers (SSO), and other enterprise platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, GitHub, Azure DevOps). Manage plugin evaluations and installations, ensuring compatibility and performance. Agile Transformation Experience Partner with Agile Coaches and PMOs to drive Agile maturity across teams and departments. Translate Agile principles into tool configurations that support Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and hybrid frameworks. Conduct training sessions, workshops, and documentation to promote best practices in Agile tooling and delivery. Serve as a change agent in Agile adion, helping teams transition from legacy processes to modern Agile workflows. Backend Development & Integration Develop and maintain backend services and APIs to support tool integrations and data flows. Build custom connectors and middleware to enable seamless communication between Atlassian tools and other enterprise systems. Ensure security, scalability, and performance of integrations and backend services. Governance & Strategy Define and enforce governance models for tool usage, data integrity, and user access. Collaborate with enterprise architects and IT leadership to align tooling strategy with business goals. Monitor and report on tool usage, adion metrics, and Agile KPIs. Required Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 7+ years of experience in Agile development, with at least 3 years as an Atlassian SME. Strong proficiency in backend development (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js) and RESTful APIs. Proven experience in getting involved with enterprise Agile transformation. Deep understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe). Hands-on experience with tool integrations (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow). Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications: Atlassian certifications (e.g., ACP-120 Jira Administration, ACP-600 Project Administration). Experience with cloud and data center deployments of Atlassian tools. Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, , Power) for automation.
