The role requires strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V/SCVMM migrations, scripting/automation (Power), and a solid understanding of storage and networking dependencies in virtualized environments. Proven experience with VMware vSphere (design, administration, troubleshooting). Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V and System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM). Familiarity with workload conversion tools and migration methodologies. Strong automation and scripting skills (Power preferred). Deep understanding of storage and network dependencies for virtualized workloads. Experience performing migrations in regulated industries (pharmaceuticals, CDMO). Familiarity with disaster recovery solutions and DR testing for virtualized environments. Experience integrating virtual environments with hybrid cloud solutions. Plan and execute VMware-to-Hyper-V migration projects, including discovery, assessment, and cutover activities. Use and validate workload conversion tools; develop automation scripts to streamline migration tasks. Assess and remediate storage and networking dependencies to ensure successful migrations. Collaborate with infrastructure, network, storage, and security teams to coordinate migration efforts and minimize downtime. Document migration plans, runbooks, and post-migration validation procedures. Support disaster recovery planning and testing related to migrated workloads. Migration assessment reports and remediation plans. Automation scripts and migration runbooks. Validated migrated workloads with post-migration verification results.
