This role requires strong expertise in spatial data management, system integration, and end-user training to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making. Key Responsibilities GIS Solution Design: Architect and implement enterprise GIS solutions tailored to utilities operations, leveraging spatial data to drive efficiency and insights. System Integration: Integrate GIS platforms with related systems such as asset management, work management, and outage management for seamless data flow and operations. Data Management & Modeling: Develop and maintain data models, ensuring data integrity, quality, and standardization across multiple formats (e.g., shapefiles, GeoJSON, GML). Spatial Analysis: Apply techniques such as spatial joins, buffering, and network analysis to support complex decision-making. Training & Support: Provide training sessions, documentation, and ongoing support to utilities clients to ensure successful adoption and utilization of GIS solutions. Stakeholder Collaboration: Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to capture business needs and translate them into GIS deliverables. Required Skills & Experience GIS Expertise: 10+ years of hands-on experience with ESRI GIS Product Suite and deep knowledge of GIS principles, spatial data analysis, and mapping techniques. Web GIS Tools: Proficiency in Geocortex Essentials, ArcGIS Viewer for Flex Application Builder, ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS, EpochField (or similar). Utilities Domain Knowledge: Proven experience working with utilities customers, with understanding of industry-specific processes and challenges. Data Management: Strong capabilities in data modeling, data governance, and ensuring high-quality spatial datasets. System Integration: Experience integrating GIS solutions with enterprise systems like asset/work management platforms. Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
