You can find more details about the job posting Job Title: Data Engineer (ETL, Python/Java, JavaScript) Location: USA Type: Contract Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our data and analytics team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building and maintaining scalable ETL pipelines, data integration workflows, and automation scripts using Python or Java along with JavaScript for data-driven application support. You will work closely with data analysts, software engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless data flow, high data quality, and efficient processing across systems. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into data warehouses or data lakes. Write efficient, maintainable code in Python or Java to handle large-scale data processing and automation. Use JavaScript for scripting, data validation, or integration tasks in web-based or API-driven data workflows. Collaborate with business and analytics teams to define data requirements, mappings, and validation rules. Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. Monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot failures, and implement error-handling and retry mechanisms. Work with cloud or on-prem data platforms (e.g., AWS, P, or Azure) for data ingestion and transformation. Ensure data governance, security, and compliance with company standards. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of the data engineering process. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or ETL Developer. Strong programming skills in Python or Java for data transformation and automation. Proficiency with JavaScript for scripting, validation, or integration with web APIs. Hands-on experience with ETL tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Informatica, Talend, AWS Glue, or custom ETL pipelines). Experience working with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL systems (MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.). Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and data integration best practices. Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or P). Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with big data frameworks (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) is a plus. Knowledge of API integrations and RESTful services. Exposure to DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes) for data workflow automation. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
