The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting trading, valuation, and portfolio management platforms within hedge fund or private equity environments. This role is hybrid onsite in Midtown Manhattan (three days per week) and requires local NY/NJ candidates only. Key Responsibilities Collaborate closely with Valuation and Trading teams to understand business processes, workflows, and data dependencies. Gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications for development teams. Support both the enhancement of existing valuation tools and the design and build of a new, custom valuation platform. Analyze large data sets, validate data migrations, and monitor data quality metrics. Facilitate communication between business users and technical teams, ensuring alignment on requirements and delivery expectations. Write and refine user stories, epics, and backlog items under Agile methodology. Coordinate with vendors and internal developers to test, implement, and maintain software updates. Produce training documentation and conduct user sessions for newly built features. Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst within a Hedge Fund, Private Equity, or Capital Markets environment. Proven experience working on trading (TRADE), pricing, valuation, or portfolio management systems. Deep understanding of valuation methodologies, market data sources, and trade lifecycle. Hands-on experience with SQL for data extraction, validation, and analysis. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, data flows, and system integration concepts. Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and velocity tracking. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and ideally Power BI. Prior experience with Azure DevOps or JIRA. Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field (Masters preferred). Preferred Skills Knowledge of alternative investments, structured products, and derivatives. Strong analytical and documentation skills. Excellent communication skills ( 9/10 or better) must interact effectively with both technical and business stakeholders. Self-starter, proactive, and detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities. Candidate Requirements (Must Include) Must have TRADE or TRADING experience clearly listed on the resume. Must have long projects/good tenure. Must be local to NY/NJ with a State-issued ID (no relocation). Must have excellent communication and client-facing skills.
