Git version control As part of Client ' technology modernization initiative, the organization is transitioning from SAS to Databricksa cloud-native platform offering scalable data engineering, collaborative advanced analytics, and AI-driven innovation. This migration supports Client vision to accelerate data-driven decision making, optimize model development with greater agility, and harness real-time analytics for improved actuarial and underwriting performance. REQUIRED SKILLS/Qualifications: Bachelors degree in computer science, data or social science, operations research, statistics, applied mathematics, econometrics, or a related quantitative field AND 4+ years of experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling and/or data engineering work OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or Software is acceptable. 5+ years of programming experience with command in at least two languages: SQL (required), Python (required), Java, R, or Spark. Expert proficiency in SQL; experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server. 4+ years of experience working with Databricks (or similar platform) within the BI/Analytics space such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Data Explorer, Cosmos, App Insights, Power BI, and Databricks. Hands-on experience leading or supporting SAS-to-Databricks conversion or migration projects, including refactoring legacy data pipelines, translating SAS models or scripts, and optimizing data architecture for modern cloud-native environments. 3+ years of experience in the areas of Graph databases, Big Data, or Hyper Scale products in Azure. Experience using Git, or a comparable code repository. Must be motivated, self-driven, curious, and creative. Must be a skilled communicator, and demonstrate an ability to work with end users and business leaders. Demonstrate the ability to support and complement the work of a diverse development and/or operations team. Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional team; active participation in sprint reviews. Expert knowledge and a minimum of four years experience in the following domains: Data management, software engineering, and infrastructure & operations (I&O). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of health care operations. Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies. Ability to work in a hybrid cloud environment consisting of on-premise and public cloud infrastructure. An ideal candidate will have experience with one or more of the following skill sets: o Expert in relational databases like Oracle, SQL Server. o Expert in optimizing and tuning SQL/Oracle queries, stored procedures, and triggers. o Expert in Python (NumPy, pandas, matplotlib, etc.) and Jupyter notebooks for exploratory data analysis, machine learning, and process automation. o Expert in areas of CI/CD, Continuous Testing, and Site Reliability Engineering. o Expert in Microsoft Azure applications such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Purview, and Databricks / Spark, Power BI, and PowerApps. o Expert in event streaming tools like NiFi, Kafka, and Flink. o Expert in data processing tools like Apache Sqoop, Spark, and Hive. o Expert in document or NoSQL datastores, particularly MongoDB. o Expert in Power BI data models using advanced Power Query and DAX. o Expert in AI/ML Ops. Experience with SAS (Statistical Analysis System) for data analysis, reporting, and ETL, including modernization or migration from SAS environments to cloud-based platforms such as Databricks. Interest and desire to contribute to emerging practices around DataOps (CI/CD, IaC, configuration management, etc.). Collaborate effectively with product management, program management, engineers, and stakeholders. Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to influence without authority and thrive in an ambiguous environment.
