The ideal candidate will lead multiple SRE squads, drive reliability engineering best practices, ensure system availability/performance, and optimize cloud-based production environments. This role requires deep technical expertise, leadership capability, strong automation skills, and hands-on experience in managing mission-critical systems. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor multiple SRE squads, ensuring high-quality delivery and operational excellence. Provide technical leadership for incident response, automation initiatives, cloud deployments, and optimization projects. Drive SRE best practices including SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, and error budgets. Deploy, automate, maintain, and administer GCP-based production systems. Ensure availability, performance, scalability, and security of cloud services. Utilize a broad range of GCP services and enforce best-practice cloud security standards. Manage CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and production workloads. Build automation frameworks for infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and monitoring. Use configuration management tools to automate systems and environment setup. Drive infrastructure-as-code practices across the organization. Work with CI/CD systems to streamline release and deployment cycles. Perform system troubleshooting across infrastructure, network, and application layers. Implement monitoring solutions using tools like Nagios, Stackdriver, Prometheus, etc. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes. Ensure proactive issue identification through performance tuning and monitoring. Lead pre-production testing, system validation, and operational readiness reviews. Manage build, release, and configuration processes for production environments. Ensure smooth deployments through automated and controlled processes. Ensure strong security posture across cloud and on-prem environments. Implement best-in-class cloud security practices, policies, and auditing controls. Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies and cloud security solutions. Required Skills & Experience 12+ years of experience in SRE, Infrastructure Engineering, or DevOps roles. Strong experience managing or leading multiple SRE squads. 4+ years of hands-on experience in GCP, including major services and cloud security best practices. Expertise in automation, configuration management, and CI/CD pipelines. Strong scripting skills using Python (preferred) or similar languages. Proficiency in Windows & Linux administration. Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Stackdriver, Prometheus. Excellent troubleshooting abilities in infrastructure, networking, and application areas. Knowledge of network protocols and services: DNS, HTTPS, SSH, FTP, SMTP.
