Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with FP&A teams and developers to define and document system requirements, ensuring alignment with financial reporting and planning objectives. Testing & Validation: Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate system functionality against business needs, particularly around financial data accuracy. Data Integrity & Controls: Partner with finance teams to ensure the integrity, consistency, and quality of financial data across planning and reporting systems. Continuous Improvement: Apply critical thinking to evaluate current FP&A workflows, challenge assumptions, and propose alternative solutions to improve forecasting accuracy and operational efficiency. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between finance (FP&A) and technology teams, facilitating effective communication, managing priorities, and ensuring successful delivery of project objectives. Reporting & Insights: Support the design and delivery of financial dashboards, KPIs, and reports to enhance decision-making across leadership teams. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Financial Expertise: 510+ years of experience in FP&A or financial systems roles within Life & Annuity insurance, or financial services industries. Technical Proficiency: Experience with financial planning platforms (e.g., Hyperion, Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, or similar tools) and comfort working with large datasets. Analytical Aptitude: Strong ability to analyze financial processes, identify issues, and recommend improvements. Skilled in projections, scenario analysis, and variance reporting. Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate with both finance professionals and IT developers. Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; ability to translate technical and financial concepts for diverse stakeholders. Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to independently identify process inefficiencies and recommend creative, practical solutions.
