The Jr. Product Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the Product Owner and Senior Product Analyst by translating product vision into well-defined user stories and executable backlog items. This role serves as the teams source of truth for business logic, requirements, analysis, and testing. The Product Analyst will work closely with subject matter experts, vendors, and cross-functional teams to analyze business processes, define functional and technical requirements, assess impacts, and support end-to-end delivery. AMI technologies impact more than five million customers daily and are foundational to the companys smart city, smart home, and Internet of Things (IoT) initiatives. In this role, you will help shape technology solutions that directly influence customer experience, operational efficiency, and the future of energy delivery across New York. Key Responsibilities: Partner closely with the Product Owner to support product vision, roadmap execution, and backlog refinement. Translate business needs into clear, actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements. Serve as the primary resource for business logic, requirements analysis, testing support, and documentation. Collaborate with SMEs to analyze business processes, perform impact assessments, and decompose features for prioritization. Lead ideation sessions and help transform ideas into designs and delivered solutions. Design and document business and technology architecture to support AMI capabilities and enhancements. Work across innovative areas including smart city initiatives, sensor technology, mesh networks, field devices, and IoT platforms. Support configuration, installation, and maintenance of AMI-related applications and vendor packages. Maintain functional scope and technical design documentation for assigned applications. Perform unit testing and support integration testing and user acceptance testing. Make recommendations to improve application configuration, performance, and reliability. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to prepare and deploy production changes following established processes. Provide 24x7 on-call support and participate in disaster recovery drills. Clearly communicate technical concepts and issues to business and functional users. Perform other related duties as required to support the AMI IT agenda. Mandatory Experience: 1-2 years experience in product analysis, business analysis, or systems analysis within a technology-driven environment. Strong understanding of AMI systems, EIP, MDMS, data analytics, and troubleshooting concepts. Proven ability to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements. Experience working with Agile teams, user stories, and backlog execution. Hands-on experience supporting application configuration, testing, and production support. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, SMEs, and vendors. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Desirable Experience: Experience supporting smart grid, smart city, or IoT-based technologies. Exposure to utility operations such as electric, gas, or customer operations. Experience with vendor-managed platforms and third-party integrations. Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and operational support models. Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and expand technical skill sets.
