The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, architecting, and implementing comprehensive security solutions, analyzing existing security infrastructure, identifying vulnerabilities, and recommending improvements to safeguard agency systems and data. The Senior Security Architect will report directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and work closely with a multidisciplinary cybersecurity team. Organizational Overview The Information Security division includes: Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Vulnerability Management Engineer Application Security Manager Risk Manager Security Awareness Analyst SOC Engineer SIEM Engineer Scope of Work The Senior Information Security Architect will play a key role in shaping and executing the agencys information security strategy, contributing across engineering, governance, operations, and incident response. Key Responsibilities Review and document technical requirements to comply with Citywide Cybersecurity Policies and Standards. Collaborate with the CISO and IT leadership to develop information security strategy and key initiatives. Define objectives and KPIs to measure initiative success. Develop budget, resource requirements, and execution plans for cybersecurity initiatives. Lead major security initiatives in collaboration with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders. Design and implement secure architectures and frameworks for enterprise systems and networks. Lead user security awareness programs. Support and enhance identity governance initiatives. Provide guidance to improve SDLC security practices. Lead vulnerability management and patching processes, including risk assessment and prioritization. Conduct security assessments and risk analyses to identify vulnerabilities and threats. Participate in security-related projects aligned with agency strategic goals. Guide organizational change management related to data security initiatives. Required Qualifications 46+ years of experience in information security architecture or security engineering. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level presentations. Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Cybersecurity (preferred). Strong knowledge of on-premises and cloud security controls (AWS and/or Azure). In-depth understanding of security frameworks and standards: CIS Top 20 Controls ISO 27001 NIST 800-53 Experience with organizational change management.
