Position: System Engineer with Linux Exp Duration: 6 months (Ext) Location: Richardson, TX, United States(hybrid) JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities: Design, Development, and integration of software components Provide technical guidance to other software teams on services and tools (in-house and opensource) Support integration of Linux upgrades into the Client product development environment Design and Develop Docker/Container components into Clients products and development environment Develop and support low-level hardware device drivers and operating system support components/applications Upgrade/migrate existing components into newer operating systems and/or products Develop and Integrate Software, Tools, Third party software, Open-source software Participate in a team by writing, integrating, testing, and documenting software functions. Issue investigation, status, and resolution during System Test. Skills & Knowledge: Strong verbal and written communications skills Ability to work in a team environment, collaborate on software development requirements and share innovative approaches or ideas with team members Motivated, goal oriented, strong work ethic Flexible, adaptable, and open to change Technical, analytical, modelling, and programming skills Experience & Education: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience Minimum of 8 years of software development experience Knowledge of C/C++, Python, and scripts Experience in Embedded Linux systems with an understanding of multicore and multithreaded applications Experience in board bring-up using embedded Linux, boot-loaders, SPI, i2C, PowerPC, x86 architectures etc. Experience in one or more of the following: Yocto Linux Distro, Grub, ONIE, ZMQ, distributed messaging frameworks, TCP/IP, SDKs from Broadcom, Marvell, etc. Strong debugging skills including the use of GBD and analytical skills to understand customer issues. Experience with the Atlassian suite of SW development tools is a plus Well versed in modern SW development concepts (model driven development), pipelines for automation Experience in unit test, continuous integration (CI/CD) frameworks Familiarity with Git, JIRA, Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
