Job Description J ob Title: Mainframe Database Administrator Location: On-Site (Tallahassee, FL ) Local Mode of interview: Skype Need LinkedIn and DL Primary Responsibilities: Establish, maintain, and apply quality assurance techniques and processes to optimize COBOL application development efforts. Analyze and monitor existing mainframe environments for potential improvements and provide technical guidance. Conduct performance tuning of mainframe database environments at the system level, specifically for DB2 and IBM z/OS. Participate in the annual disaster recovery of the mainframe environment. Ensure quality, accuracy, reliability, validity, precision, and integrity of data resources and derived information. Develop and maintain metadata for entities and data elements, including relationships, origins, meanings, and uses. Create and maintain an enterprise data model for the Offender-Based Information System (OBIS) DB2 database. Analyze proposed data elements for addition to database structures and assess impact on size and performance. Monitor database operational performance to ensure response time minimums are met and maintain database integrity. Collaborate with application programming staff on data element access and ensure adherence to standards. Minimum Qualifications: 6+ years of experience with IBM DB2 database, including creating, maintaining, optimizing, and modifying DB2 databases. Proficiency in using Computer-Aided (CA) database tools. 3+ years of experience working in an Azure environment and utilizing cloud-native databases. 5+ years of prior experience with the Department. Must successfully complete a Level II Background Check. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Azure SQL databases. Familiarity with Data Warehouse techniques and processes. Ability to create and update Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs). Knowledge of DB2 upgrade processes. 5+ years of experience with SQL (version 2012 or higher). Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS, Data Processing, or related field OR four (4) years of equivalent work experience.
