We need SYSTEMS analysts. This position is focused on optimizing our enterprise finance, accounting and tax systems, in a techno-functional capacity. We are looking for a FSA who has a keen understanding of how to drive financial system optimization, through collaborating with business stakeholders, gathering requirements, designing technical solutions and workflows to meet these requirements, and partnering with vendors and internal engineers to ensure solution delivery. As such, were looking for someone who has a keen understanding of best practices to drive the SDLC forward. Two of the major priorities over the coming years is migrating on-prem applications to Azure, and then driving more AI into applications. So youll have an opportunity to get experience with both cloud migrations and AI in this role any experience in these areas would be a nice to have, but not required by any means. Were also looking for someone who is proficient with SQL, and is comfortable porting data from Excel into enterprise databases. Any reporting experience would be a nice to have. This person will also be driving application testing, prior to coordinating the release of new features, so any application testing experience is a nice to have. Experience working with finance and accounting systems vendors is also a key responsibility, that we need this person to be comfortable driving forward. You will be working on a team of 4 (3 other team members are senior, so youll get great support), supporting about 20-25 applications, with about 40-50 stakeholders. What youll be doing Partner with business stakeholders and gather business requirements to understand and prioritize their needs, define the goals and objectives, and create a roadmap of projects for their assigned area. Transform and analyze business user needs into the necessary documentation (requirements, use cases, traceability matrix, design documentation, test scripts, etc.). Seek input of user experience and document current procedures and processes to determine potential improvements to their assigned products. Collaborate with the BI Team to analyze business process, matching with appropriate and available technical solutions, and support development and delivery of requested reporting output. Assist users with service requests, such as data uploads, simple data queries, resolve production system issues, etc. Answer an array of specific How-To questions related to applications in portfolio. Manage the lifecycle of their assigned products and applications, from inception to implementation, throughout production until retirement/upgrade. Create tickets with vendors and track the ticketing process through resolution. Perform new user setups, including creating user accounts and configuring appropriate security permissions and access levels; also includes modifying existing users based on role changes, user deactivation and terminations for assigned applications. Perform regular reviews, reconciliations, and audits of user lists and access rights/roles to identify necessary edits are made to maintain highest level of adherence to security model governance. Skills were seeking 2+ years of experience as a Financial Systems Analyst, or a similar techno-functional driving financial system optimization Must have experience working with accounting systems Must have the ability to write SQL queries, that are moderate in complexity Must be strong with Excel, and proficient with MS Word and PowerPoint Must have experience gathering requirements from business stakeholders, and driving solutions to improve financial systems with cross functional teams *We are looking for candidates who might be a bit more technical than your average BA someone savvy who understands SDLC, who has hands-on experience testing applications (in addition to meeting users, gathering requirements, putting together flow diagrams) they will work with developers to load data (report development). *Theyre looking for someone with a strong BA/PM core, with strong experience documenting processes and managing JIRA, and someone who is comfortable with test cases (able to get in, understand the applications, assist with bug fixes and troubleshoot live with users, etc.). *This candidate must be comfortable reporting directly to a Senior IT Portfolio Manager who works 100% remotely. This Manager recently hired a Senior-level Analyst (and will have 2 reports total once this individual is hired). The Senior Analyst will work onsite in Chicago (as does a majority of the rest of the team). *This Analyst works with all partner accounting, tax, and retirement-related applications; a majority of the applications are built in-house. A majority of the work will involve vendor relationship management and working with internal stakeholders to understand business needs. *This individual will support approx. 20-25 applications, with around 40-50 relevant stakeholders involved (partner matters, partner accounting and compensation, analytics and special projects). *Overall, looking for someone who has worked in large, varied environments accounting and financial services knowledge is ultimately more important than prior law firm experience someone who has worked/supported multiple applications at once (who can multitask, prioritize effectively) *Ideal candidates will be highly communicative, collaborative, professional (with strong presentation skills someone not afraid to ask questions, engage with senior leadership someone who could maybe move into a people-management role in a few years) *The following is a requirement: Proficiency with MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) *Recruiter Note: Besides Excel, SQL knowledge/experience would be a strong preference (someone able to translate data into new databases, etc.).
