Title: Java/Kafka Dev Location: Cincinnati, OH / Remote EST (ONLY) Duration: 8+ months Job Description: As a Java/Kafka developer, you should have 6+ years of experience with a superior software development background and be able to facilitate, design, and develop technical solutions for new and existing Kafka based applications and processes. You will interact with Lead Developers, System Analysts, Business Users, Architects, Test Analysts, Project Managers and peer developers to analyze system requirements, design and develop software solutions and enhancements. Construct technical solutions and supporting deliverables to enable our client to accomplish its business objectives, including the migration from coupled monoliths to a resilient, elastic, event-driven architecture. Primary responsibilities are focused on the Analysis, Design, Development, and Testing of leading edge solutions utilizing Kafka: Kafka API lifecycle development and management Define & Deploy API Governance & Monitoring processes. Unit test solutions to ensure they meet quality standards Ensure that solutions meet requirements outlined in the design documentation Perform all work to agreed time, cost and quality constraints Ensure that developed solutions are peer reviewed and formally documented Expertise with enterprise technologies including applications, storage platforms, database, network switching, and security infrastructure within a virtualized data center. Ability to use a broad portfolio of open-source technologies and cloud services Experience with automation/configuration management Extensive knowledge of Kafka components including troubleshooting In-depth understanding of Kafka performance testing (by Kafka component) and best practices; with the ability to properly tune complex and high-traffic applications/systems Maintain and enhance Kafka architecture, Confluent Kafka design principles, CI/CD Deployment procedures Model system behaviors using best practice methods for communicating Additional Technology Information/Key Skills Required: 1.PL/SQL 2. DESP (Domain Event Streaming Platform), Spring Kafka, Spring Boot 3.Java 4.Pro*c 5.Scripting languages, .ksh, python, Strimzi 6.RIB/RSB, JSON, AVRO, XML 7.Oracle Fusion, Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) Minimum Position Qualifications 3+ years of successful and applicable hands-on experience in software or infrastructure development domain and principles, including design patterns and code structure 3+ years of proven track record of designing and delivering large scale, high-quality systems 3+ years of successful and applicable experience taking a lead role in building complex software ad automation systems that has been successfully delivered to customers Strong knowledge of industry trends and industry competition Proven ability to think and contribute at the strategic level Demonstrated written, oral and presentation/public speaking communication skills Understanding of network and security architecture Deep knowledge in a minimum of two of the following technical disciplines: infrastructure and network design, application development, application programming interfaces (APIs), cloud, middleware, servers and storage, database management, and operations Desired Previous Experience/Education Any experience in system architecture Any experience in Cloud software service including designing for scale, performance and reliability Demonstrated capability to build, mentor and maintain an inclusive team-based environment Experience building solution using elastic architectures (preferably Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform) Key Responsibilities Develop a high-quality codebase, lead design discussions, execute development against design, and navigate complex codebase Responsible for development implementation of technical design within a defined set of teams.
