Role Name: Mainframe Developer Location: Schaumburg, IL JOB DESCRIPTION: "We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL and CICS as primary skills and Database (DB2 or equivalent) as secondary skills. The candidate will work on Claims application development and maintenance, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to business requirements. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, and DB2. Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions for Claims processing systems. Perform code reviews, debugging, and optimization for performance and scalability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery. Handle production support, incident resolution, and root cause analysis. Prepare and maintain technical documentation and adhere to compliance standards. Participate in unit testing, system testing, and UAT support. Required Skills & Qualifications: Primary Skills: Strong hands-on experience in COBOL, CICS, JCL, and VSAM. Secondary Skills: Proficiency in DB2 or other Mainframe database technologies. Good understanding of Claims domain and related business processes. Experience with batch and online processing in Mainframe environments. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SDLC processes. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of insurance or healthcare claims systems. Exposure to performance tuning and Mainframe modernization initiatives.
