Title : NETWORK ENGINEER Duration : 5 Months Contract Location : Tallahassee, FL 32399 ,ON-SITE Visa : USC/GC Job Description Summary The Network Engineer position will report to the Deputy Chief Information Officer, within the Office of Information Technology, and will serve the Division of Information Technology in overseeing system operations and enhancements for the Network infrastructure currently managed by the Office of Information Technology. The Network Engineer is responsible for the monitoring, selection, installation, performance, and maintenance of all network-related functions management. The contractor shall provide technical capability, knowledge, industry partnerships, experience, and expertise/proficiency required to design, procure, establish, integrate, install, test, maintain and support the Department's enterprise systems solutions. Preference will be given to candidates who have strength in the following areas: * Servers and Hosting (Windows and Linux), * Database (Oracle, SQL, MySQL), * Workstations and Think Client Workstations (Windows), * Domain Name Servers, * Active Directory Servers, * Data Storage, * Networking and Data Transport, * Wireless, * Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN), * Telephone, and * Secure and Non-Secure Internet Protocol Job Description: * Maintain and control computer networks and associated computing environments like software for systems, software applications, equipment, and configurations, * Running operations for disaster recovery and backups of data where possible, * Data, applications, and hardware are protected by organizing, preparing, and enforcing network security measures, * Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and solving hardware, software, and other issues affecting the network and device, * Replacing defective hardware components of the network where possible, * Maintain, customize, and track the device and email applications for virus protection, * Network performance monitoring to decide whether any changes are required, * Conferring with network users on solving issues with current networks, * Use master consoles to control network and computer system output, * Coordinating access to the use of computer networks, and * Plan, install, and test networking devices, hardware for computers, and devices for operating systems. Qualified candidates would have the following: Preferred Qualifications and Experience: * A minimum of (3) years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering (hardware and/or software), design, planning and implementation, * Bachelor's degree in the field of research related to information technology, with an emphasis on Network Engineering, * A current Network-related certification, * Clear knowledge of hardware and network infrastructure, * Ability to think, and imagine solutions to problems, * Power to install, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure tools including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers, * Knowledge of transport systems and the standards for network infrastructure, * Can build detailed network diagrams and documents for network communication systems design and planning, * Provides extensive precise details for choosing the hardware and applications, and * Network security experience Thanks and Regards Divya Pahwa Technical Recruiter | ConvexTech Inc.
