Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled OMS Engineer to support, optimize, and maintain our Outage Management System (OMS) with a focus on the eTerra (GE) OMS platform and its integrations across the utility technology landscape. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate outage detection, efficient restoration processes, and continuous operational readiness. The ideal candidate has deep experience with OMS technologies, AMI filtering rules, utility operations, and system integrations. Key Responsibilities Administer, configure, and maintain the eTerra OMS platform to ensure reliability, performance, and operational availability. Develop, enhance, and maintain OMS processes, workflows, and configurations to support outage response and grid operations. Support and manage integrations between OMS and other systems such as GMS, SCADA/EMS/DMS, AMI systems, GIS, and enterprise applications. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the AMI Filtering Rules Engine to reduce false outage indications and improve detection accuracy. Analyze system logs, performance metrics, and alerts to proactively identify risks and implement corrective actions. Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Operations, Field Services, Engineering, and third-party vendors to resolve issues and implement enhancements. Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, NERC/CIP, and utility operational standards. Participate in system upgrades, patches, testing cycles, and release management activities. Provide internal technical training, documentation, and user support related to OMS capabilities. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience working with OMS platforms, preferably GE OMS (eOMS) or CGI OMS. Strong understanding of Outage Management Systems, including outage detection, prediction, and restoration workflows. Experience working with or supporting GMS modules and integrations between OMS and other real-time grid systems. Proficiency with AMI Filtering Rules Engine technologies, tuning, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with utility operations, distribution networks, and real-time control environments. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues. Strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical and operational teams. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SCADA, DMS, EMS, or other grid operations platforms. Working knowledge of SQL, scripting languages (Python, Power, Bash), or automation frameworks. Experience with cloud-based or hybrid OMS architectures. Understanding of utility cybersecurity standards, including NERC/CIP requirements.
