The Solution Architect designs and enables the development of Business Platforms that deliver business benefits within a specific business unit and moves the client towards a digital future. The Solution Architect is Innovative and Bold Explores ideas where Technology improves business value Contributes to strategic technical roadmap for a Tech Domain or Business Division and a heavy contributor to tactical implementations Establishes architecture definition and direction for Business Platform(s) within a business unit or technology domain to align with business needs, business strategies and the client's Technology strategy Introduces new technologies in initiatives and coaches and mentors teams on using new technologies Continuously seeks ways to improve employee experiences and the client's experiences by leveraging technology Identifies opportunities to digitize services (internal and client-facing) The Solution Architect is Invested and Engaged Collaborates on solutions to deliver business value Works cross-functionally with both business and IT stakeholders Proposes technology architecture solutions based on business and technology considerations Defines technology solution architecture(s) to guide contextualize solution development for Agile delivery squads Hands-on work with Agile delivery squads to groom backlog and assists with delivery of improvements to Business Platforms Aligns initiatives with long-term enterprise goals and architectural standards Prepares and present designs and any known exceptions to Architecture Review Board Ensures technology solution capabilities for the Business Platforms are cost-effective and aligned with long term business needs and leverage enterprise solutions, Standards and Design Patterns The Solution Architect is a Learner and Curious Uses multiple channels to constantly learn and grow Continuously learns and stays updated on digital skills Advises internal business and IT partners on potential disruptive technologies and trends General: Carries out responsibilities with minimal level of supervision for complex tasks and no supervision for more routine matters Collaborates with senior business and IT stakeholders to secure strong engagement for the solution and ensures that the delivery of the Platform aligns to longer-term strategic roadmap Initiative Delivery: Participates as a technology lead to collaborate with Agile squads to deliver business benefits with effective and efficient use of technology Platform(s) Collaborates with business SMEs, engineers, architects and other roles from multiple disciplines to conduct strategic options analysis and high-level design for Platform(s). Presents to stakeholders on how options will meet their needs Creates Solution Overviews and Architecture Overviews to define technology approaches and solutions to integrate software, applications, infrastructure, security technologies and third-party solutions as required to meet business and technical requirements of the organization Partners with business and technology SMEs to ensure that technology solutions are fit for purpose, meet business requirements and align with the strategic technology vision Identifies and communicates appropriate resource requirements and work breakdown structure based on skills profile and best fit to complete the end-to-end solution design, and works with the Project Manager / Scrum Master to ensure that project plans and budgets align with the desig Participates in the 3rd Party Vendor selection process to evaluate technology alignment and cost of products Strategic Planning: Defines and communicates the technology direction by collaborating with IT and business stakeholders to establish and maintain Architecture Blueprints. These define the target architecture direction and high-level roadmap for Business Platform(s) that impact a single Business Division or Technology Domain Simplifies existing technology architecture by identifying rationalization opportunities and increasing the utilization of existing technology assets Improves utilization of existing assets by identifying technology synergies within and across business units and Platforms Improves efficiency by helping business and technology leaders identify opportunities to leverage existing technologies and Platforms to improve customer experiences, internal user experiences, efficiency, security and/or stability Drives continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to digitize services and processes (internal and client-facing) Architecture Governance: Leads efforts to prioritize, establish and maintain technology principles and Design Patterns to promote technology reuse, improve stability and improve security Assesses technology changes to ensure alignment with technology principles, Architecture Blueprints and Design Patterns Informs stakeholders of key architecture decisions and exceptions to Design Patterns and Standards System Stability & Risk Improves stability of Platforms by assisting with complex Problem Resolution efforts to determine root cause and fixes related to Production Incidents Periodically reviews system performance, capacity and utilization trends for the Platform(s). Identifies and presents recommendations for improvements Contributes to risk issue resolution plans, 2LOD and 3LOD audits as needed Continuous Learning and Introducing New Technologies: Continuously learns new technologies and capabilities and keep up with digital skills and certifications Introduces new technologies in initiatives and coaches teams on using and implementing new technologies Provides mentoring and coaching for architects across centralized and federated architecture teams and roles Presents technology briefings internally and externally Monitors and analyzes industry, technology and market trends to determine potential impact to Platforms and to the organization Conducts research into technology trends, existing vendor capabilities and existing system capabilities and provides options and recommendations to leverage technologies for business benefits.
