Location: Oakland, CA or San Ramon, CA (Hybrid) Business Unit: Engineering, Planning & Strategy Job Level: Individual Contributor Work Type: Hybrid The Category Lead will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that improve cost efficiency, supplier performance, and supply chain resilience. This role requires strong expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management, and category strategy development. The Category Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver procurement solutions that support PG&Es goals for safe, reliable, and sustainable energy operations. This is a hybrid position, requiring a mix of remote work and work at the assigned office location.Key ResponsibilitiesCategory Strategy & Sourcing Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned procurement categories. Develop and execute category sourcing strategies to optimize cost, reduce risk, and ensure supply continuity. Lead RFPs, RFIs, and competitive bidding processes to select best-value suppliers. Conduct market research and supplier risk assessments.Supplier Management Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers. Conduct supplier performance reviews and scorecard evaluations. Encourage supplier collaboration for innovation and continuous improvement.Contract & Negotiation Lead high-value supplier negotiations to secure favorable agreements. Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts and commercial terms. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company procurement policies.Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with internal stakeholders, legal teams, and operational leaders. Influence sourcing and negotiation strategies for medium-complexity spend categories. Lead cross-functional procurement projects.Market & Data Analysis Monitor industry trends, supplier markets, and regulatory changes. Utilize spend analytics, cost modeling, and procurement tools to drive strategic decisions.Minimum Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). 6+ years of sourcing or procurement experience.Preferred Qualifications 8+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
