This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who can operate at both the architecture and platform engineering level, while also mentoring teams and driving best practices across cloud environments. You will play a key role in modernizing infrastructure, implementing automation, and ensuring alignment with security and compliance frameworks (NIST). Key Responsibilities Design and implement scalable, secure cloud infrastructure within AWS. Lead platform engineering initiatives across compute, containerization, and serverless environments. Build and manage services using EC2, ECS, EKS, and Lambda. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support application delivery and infrastructure automation. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation. Architect and support cloud-based database solutions. Ensure compliance with NIST and lower protective-level security frameworks. Monitor system performance, reliability, and cost optimization. Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to drive cloud adoption and best practices. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering / platform engineering. Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda). Experience building infrastructure using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation. Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines. Solid understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security best practices. Experience working within NIST or similar compliance frameworks. Strong experience with database technologies in cloud environments. Proven ability to operate in both hands-on and architectural leadership roles. AWS Certification(s) preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience in enterprise or regulated environments. Familiarity with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. Experience with container orchestration and microservices architectures.
