Blue Yonder TMS Configuration Specialist Location: Austin TX(Onsite), Need Local Candidates Only Experience Required: 68 Years Employment Type: Contract Primary Skill: Blue Yonder Transportation Management (TMS) SaaS Job Summary The Blue Yonder TMS Configuration Specialist is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing Blue Yonder Transportation Management (TMS) SaaS to support inbound, outbound, and intercompany logistics operations. This role acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and the TMS platform by translating operational requirements into scalable, compliant, and highperforming configurations across global transportation networks. Key Responsibilities 1. TMS Configuration & Setup Configure and maintain Blue Yonder TMS SaaS modules to support: Transportation planning and optimization Execution and carrier tendering Freight rating, settlement, and visibility Configure and manage core TMS master data, including: Locations, transportation networks, lanes, and calendars Carriers, service levels, modes, and equipment profiles Rates, contracts, accessorials, and fuel surcharge structures Configure transportation policies, constraints, and optimization parameters aligned with business rules and compliance requirements. 2. Business Process Enablement Translate business and operational requirements into TMS configurations supporting: Inbound logistics Outbound logistics Intercompany and transfer movements Enable endtoend shipment lifecycle processes, including: Shipment creation and planning Carrier tendering and acceptance Status updates, appointment scheduling, and exception handling Configure workflows, alerts, event management, and user roles/permissions within Blue Yonder TMS. 3. Integration & Data Management Collaborate with integration and technical teams to ensure seamless data flow between Blue Yonder TMS and external systems (ERP, WMS, OMS, carrier systems). Validate configuration readiness to support: APIs, EDI, and filebased integrations Shipment creation, tender responses, tracking updates, and freight invoicing Support data mapping, configuration testing, and issue resolution related to system integrations. 4. Testing & Deployment Support Provide configuration support during: Unit Testing System Integration Testing (SIT) User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Regression testing Resolve configurationrelated defects and implement adjustments based on test outcomes. Support cutover planning, production readiness, and postgolive stabilization activities. 5. Continuous Improvement & Optimization Analyze transportation execution metrics and recommend configuration enhancements to improve: Cost efficiency Service levels Compliance and visibility Support ongoing enhancements, new carrier onboarding, and evolving business requirements. Ensure all configuration changes follow governance, documentation, and changecontrol standards. Required Skills & Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field. 68 years of experience working with Transportation Management Systems. 3+ years of handson experience configuring Blue Yonder TMS SaaS. Blue Yonder TMS Expertise Strong handson experience configuring: Blue Yonder TMS foundation components Business rules and optimization parameters Solid understanding of: Shipment planning and optimization Carrier tendering and execution workflows Freight rating, costing, and settlement processes Experience supporting multimodal transportation (road, air, ocean, parcel/courier).
