The primary mission is the critical modernization and migration of a complex, legacy Swing-based thick-client UI to a high-performance, web-based platform. This work is essential for the retirement of the Sonic platform and the success of State Streets Sell-Side Web strategy. Key Responsibilities UI Migration: Lead the transition of legacy Java Swing components into a modern React UI ecosystem. Real-Time Engineering: Implement WebSocket protocols to support real-time financial data communication requirements within the platform. Backend Development: Build and optimize high-concurrency services using Core Java to support FX trading workflows. Data Hub Integration: Contribute to the FXC Data Hub initiatives using Python for data-related enhancements and automation. Database Programming: Design and maintain backend logic using Oracle PL/SQL. Architecture Alignment: Work within established architectural patterns to ensure the new web platform is scalable and production-ready by 2027. Technical Requirements Frontend: Expert-level React.js development and a strong command of HTML5. Backend: Senior-level Core Java expertise. Legacy Knowledge: Familiarity with Java Swing (essential for understanding the migration source code). Protocol Knowledge: Hands-on experience with WebSockets for real-time messaging.
