Power Utilities and ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management Systems) knowledge are Mandatory. Candidates without specific utility sector experience will not be considered.

Location:

REMOTE, though the role supports the Allentown, NY area.

Any Special Requests:

This is a techno-functional role focused on building the "Digital Utility of the Future." We need a Business Analyst who understands the complexities of grid management, SCADA integration, and outage management systems (OMS) within an Agile framework.

Important Skill-Set, Technologies, Certifications, and Methodologies:

ADMS, GIS Integration, Agile/Scrum, User Story Mapping, "As-Is / To-Be" Modeling, UAT Traceability, RFP Support, and Business Case Development.

About the Role:

We are seeking a collaborative Business Analyst to support project and product delivery teams in the modernization of utility IT systems. You will serve as the bridge between grid operations and technical development teams, translating complex power utility requirements into actionable Agile artifacts (Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria). Your goal is to optimize system inputs and processes for ADMS, ensuring that technical modifications align with industry regulations and client service goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirement Engineering:

Lead the discovery and documentation of functional requirements in the form of Epics, Features, and User Stories for prioritized feature development.

Process Mapping:

Analyze and document current and future system states (As-Is / To-Be) including detailed interface mapping and business process flows.

Stakeholder Facilitation:

Organize and facilitate cross-functional meetings between Business owners, Design teams, and Developers to ensure architectural alignment.

Testing & Traceability:

Ensure full traceability from requirement to test case. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), capture defects, and link them to root cause analysis.

Quality Assurance:

Support pre-release testing activities to validate that built features align with agreed-upon capabilities.

Strategic Support:

Assist with RFP processes, high-level requirement gathering, flow mapping, and product demos. Contribute to feasibility studies and business cases for new technology initiatives.

Training & Documentation:

Create training materials and product documentation to support the business transition to new digital tools.

Essential Skills:

6-8+ years

of IT Business Analysis experience.

Deep functional knowledge of Power Utilities and ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management Systems).

Strong experience in an Agile environment, specifically in the Discovery Phase of the Agile Playbook.

Proficiency in mapping complex data flows and system interfaces.

Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal clients and diverse technical teams.

Growth mindset with the ability to solve complex business system requirements.

Desirable Skills:

Knowledge of SCADA, OMS, or DMS systems.

Experience with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) within a utility context.

CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or Agile certification (CSPO/PSPO).
