You will own the end-to-end data lifecycle, extracting data from Workday Financials and Human Capital Management (HCM), and transforming it into trusted, governed assets within our Azure-based Databricks Lakehouse. This role requires a unique combination of ERP domain expertise and advanced data pipeline development. Key Responsibilities Workday Integration & Extraction: Design and develop robust integrations to extract data from Workday Financial Management (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Customer Invoicing, Supplier/Customer Master Data) and HCM modules (Workers, Compensation, Absence, Recruiting, Talent). Reporting & API Development: Build and maintain custom reports using Reports-as-a-Service (RaaS), Workday Query Language (WQL), and Representational State Transfer (REST) / Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) APIs. Manage Integration System Users (ISU), security domains, and OAuth 2.0 clients. Data Engineering (Databricks): Build and optimize scalable Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) and Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) pipelines using PySpark, Spark SQL, and Delta Lake. Implement Lakehouse architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) to ensure data quality. Data Governance & Quality: Leverage Databricks Unity Catalog for data lineage, access control, and compliance. Implement proactive data quality checks, monitoring, and error handling for production pipelines. Analytics Enablement: Collaborate with Finance, Human Resources, and Analytics teams to deliver curated datasets for revenue analytics, headcount, turnover, and compensation benchmarking. Required Skills & Competencies Workday Expertise: Deep understanding of Workday Financials and HCM data structures, security frameworks, and integration services. Databricks/Cloud: Strong hands-on experience building pipelines in Databricks (PySpark/Spark SQL/Delta Lake). Proficiency in cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure. Programming & Modeling: Advanced SQL and Python skills with a proven track record in enterprise-scale data modeling. Methodologies: Experience with data governance, security best practices, and integration patterns (incremental synchronization, error handling, performance tuning). Collaboration: Proven ability to translate complex business requirements from Finance and HR stakeholders into self-service data products and analytical dashboards. Qualifications 10+ years of total IT experience. 5+ years of relevant experience in Data Engineering, Integration Development, or related roles. 3+ years of specific hands-on experience with Workday ERP and Databricks.
